Collection

1. How are your records organised?

Audiovisual and sound recordings are organised by source, series or collection eg, Berita Singapura Series, Educational Television Series, Radio and Television Singapore News and Current Affairs Series, Lee Dai Soh Collection, Ronni Pinsler Collection and ITN Archive – Reuters Collection.

2. What are the copyright issues for audiovisual and sound recordings?

"Open Access" audiovisual and sound recordings are open for viewing/ listening.

For audiovisual and sound recordings with "Restricted Access", you will have to seek written consent from the respective source to view/ listen to them.

Please approach the Duty Officer at the Archives Reading Room for more information if you wish to reproduce audiovisual and sound recordings in our collection.

3. How can I listen/view the actual audiovisual and sound recordings?

You can visit the Archives Reading Room at the National Archives of Singapore at 1 Canning Rise, Singapore 179868. The opening hours are 9am - 5:30pm from Mondays to Fridays and 9am - 1:30pm on Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays.

- Archival and Administrative Fees for Audiovisual and Sound Recordings

Type 1: A fee of S$50 (excludes GST) per record, per usage will be levied for using audiovisual and sound recording(s) for educational and cultural activities, for informational and illustrative purposes in publications, newsletters and public service broadcast programmes.

Type 2: A fee of S$500.00 (excludes GST) per record, per usage will be levied for using audiovisual and sound recording(s) for product development and commercial use, for example all forms of merchandising, non-public service broadcast programmes and non-academic publications.
